WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –Daniel Wetterich maintained his hot play as of late on Day One of the Boilermaker Invitational, carding a 2-over 146 to grab a piece of sixth place overall in the 84-player field. The Cincinnati native dropped in nine birdies on the day, tied for most in the competition. Ohio State (+26) is slotted seventh in the 15-team standings as brutal winds wreaked havoc throughout the day.
Wetterich, a sophomore, is joined by an all-underclassmen lineup donning the Scarlet & Gray. Fellow sophomores Will Grimmer and Caleb Ramirez registered flip-flopping scores and are tied for 31st place. Grimmer went 75-76 while Ramirez came in at 76-75.
