NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – Ohio State junior Daniel Wetterich has had a solid start to the season and he continued that run on Tuesday with a 2-under 69 on day two of the Nike Collegiate Golf Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
Wetterich’s 69 follows a 72 in the opening round and he is now tied for 24th at 1-under par. He had a bit of an up-and-down round on Monday but enjoyed a much steadier round on Tuesday, posting three birdies against just one bogey. This was Wetterich’s sixth round in the 60s so far this season after having just three all of last year.
Caden Orewiler carded a second-straight round of even-par 71. Like the first round, he made four birdies to counter two bogies and a double bogey.
Junior Will Grimmer shot a second round 72 and sits at seven-over par for the tournament. Caleb Ramirez (81) and Will Voetsch (82) rounded out the Buckeye five on Tuesday.
As a team, the Buckeyes were done in by the big numbers on Tuesday and finished with a round of 9-over 293. That has them at 14-over for the tournament.
The final round will begin for the Buckeyes at 12:20 p.m. ET off the tenth tee. They are paired with Georgia and Oregon.
