
Melton, Wynn Complete Day One at Olympic Trials

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rising junior Sean Melton and former Buckeye national champion Brandon Wynn completed day one of competition at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Thursday night at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.
Competing on five events Thursday, Melton totaled 70.950 points, placing him 16th overall. His top finish of the evening came on vault, where he scored 14.775 to finish 13th.
Melton, with a total score of 248.500, is now 14th in the all-around standings, which also include scores from both days of competition at the P&G championships earlier this month.
Wynn finished ninth overall on Thursday with a total of 87.000, highlighted by a third-place performance on rings (15.200) and seventh-place effort on parallel bars (15.075).
Wynn, with a total score of 258.850, is now 12th in the all-around standings entering the final day.
Saturday events begin at 8 p.m. ET. NBC will air live coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
