COLUMBUS, Ohio – If you’re name is Taylor and you’re a member of the Ohio State women’s volleyball team, you’ve been named the National Player of the Week. Less than 24 hours after Taylor Sandbothe garnered the AVCA national distinction, Taylor Hughes was announced as espnW National Player of the Week on Wednesday (Oct. 5) morning.
Hughes guided the Buckeyes to a pair of Big Ten victories, including the school’s first ever road victory over a No. 1-ranked team. The OSU setter made an impact in all aspects of the match, posting impressive statistics across the board. She registered per set averages of 10.71 assists, 2.43 digs, 2.14 kills and .86 blocks all while attacking at a .444 clip.

Nebraska struggled to slow her down, victimized by 11 Hughes kills on 18 attacks. She produced 41 assists, eight digs and three blocks as well in the Buckeyes third consecutive victory in Lincoln.
