
Grimmer Closes With a Flurry at Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas – Will Grimmer stormed up the leaderboard on the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational’s final day, leaping 24 slots into a share of 14th place on the strength of a 2-under 68. Grimmer records his third Top-15 finish in as many tournaments during the 2016-17 season.
Grimmer rattled off rounds of 71-74-68 to finish at 3-over. Through nine rounds of his sophomore campaign, Grimmer has contributed to the team tally in all of them and is the owner of a team-best 70.11 season stroke average. The Cincinnati native took advantage of the Par 3’s, posting an aggregate score of 1-under to rank third in the 75-player field.
Caleb Ramirez and Daniel Wetterich pulled alongside Grimmer as three-time providers to the team total as the Buckeyes tied for 13th. Ramirez sunk a team-high 11 birdies, ranking seventh overall, and registered a steady line of 73-72-74 (+9). His 219 total came in at T-35th for the three-day event. Wetterich wasn’t far behind, completing the competition at 11-over and tied for 42nd. He bookended a middle round 71 with 75’s in the first and last trips around the course.
Seniors Addison Coll and Clark Engle rounded out the Buckeye lineup, recording ledgers of 19- and 28-over, respectively.
