COLUMBUS, Ohio – It’s officially #MatchWeek for Ohio State Women’s Volleyball as the Buckeyes jump start the 2015 season on Friday (Aug.v 28) with a road tilt at Wyoming as part of a three-match weekend during the Rumble in the Rockies (Aug. 28-29).
Luisa Schirmer, a sophomore outside hitter, dons the No. 5 jersey and recently chatted it up with OhioStateBuckeyes.com in the latest edition of ‘Countdown Close-Up.’

Schirmer made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2014, making 25 starts and competing in a total of 33 contests. She ranked second on the team with 261 digs (2.27/set), rarely coming off the floor as a six-rotation player. Schirmer connected on 235 kills and 22 service aces as well. She was named the D.C. Koehl Sports Imports Classic’s Most Outstanding Player after guiding OSU to the team title with 31 digs, 29 kills, five blocks and three aces during the three-match stretch
