COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Men’s Golf is spending the rest of this week (May 14-16) competing in the NCAA New Haven Regional hosted on The Course at Yale. Five teams and the low individual from a non-advancing team will move on and qualify for the NCAA Championships (May 29-June 3) in Bradenton, Fla.

The Buckeyes were one of 15 schools selected to participate in the New Haven Regional, a field which includes four top-25 squads. This marks the 47th all-time NCAA postseason appearance for Ohio State, including national championships in 1945 and 1979. The Buckeyes are seeking advancement into their 32nd NCAA Championships all-time.

Weather Channel is forecasting favorable conditions for the first two days of competition with sunny to partly cloudy skies and temperature highs in the lower 70s. Saturday could be a bit more challenging as meteorologists are calling for a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
HIGH FIVE FOR TOP-5’S
Ohio State has placed inside the top-5 in eight of 11 stroke play events this season, including a pair of tournament titles at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Sept. 28-29) and Intercollegiate at The Grove (Oct. 26-28).
Clark Engle has competed in 10 tournaments during his sophomore campaign, climbing into the individual top-5 in four of them (five top-10s; six top-25s). His best effort came at the Intercollegiate at The Grove, bringing home medalist honors with a 3-under 213.
ENGLE EARNS ALL-BIG TEN ACCOLADES
Clark Engle was named to the All-Big Ten Second team on April 28. The sophomore from Springfield, Ohio, paces the Buckeyes with a 72.65 stroke average while playing 31 rounds this season. In addition, Boo Timko was selected for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
JANE AND WALT DENNIS GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
The Jane and Walt Dennis Golf Performance Center, home of the Ohio State University men’s and women’s golf programs, has been named a Design Excellence Recognition Program Award recipient by the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
The Dennis Golf Performance Center was recognized “for combining the practicality of artificial turf with creative golf course design techniques to produce a unique indoor golf practice center.”
