COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University men’s golf team begins postseason play this weekend (April 24-26) competing for a Big Ten Championship in Newburgh, Ind., at the Victoria National Golf Club (7,124 yards – Par 72). The first threesome tees off at 7:00 a.m. ET Friday with the fourth-seeded Buckeyes starting at 7:45 a.m.; paired with Northwestern and Purdue.

WEATHER FORECAST
Weather Channel is forecasting favorable conditions on the first and third days of scheduled competition, but not so much on Saturday. Highs in the mid-60s with little to no chance of rain is expected on Friday and Sunday while the current prognostication calls for a 100 percent chance of precipitation for Day Two of the tournament.
BUCKEYES SHOW UP B1G AT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Ohio State has won a conference-best 23 of the 93 Big Ten Women’s Golf Championships since 1982. A trio of schools (Illinois, Michigan, Purdue) rank second all-time, 11 back from OSU with 12 Big Ten titles each. The event’s individual champion has been a Buckeye 18 times, also a conference-best.
HIGH FIVE FOR TOP-5’S
Ohio State has placed inside the top-5 in seven of 10 stroke play events this season, including a pair of tournament titles at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Sept. 28-29) and Intercollegiate at The Grove (Oct. 26-28).
Clark Engle has competed in nine tournaments during his sophomore campaign, climbing into the individual top-5 in four of them (five top-10s; six top-25s). His best effort came at the Intercollegiate at The Grove, bringing home medalist honors with a 3-under 213.
JANE AND WALT DENNIS GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
The Jane and Walt Dennis Golf Performance Center, home of the Ohio State University men’s and women’s golf programs, has been named a Design Excellence Recognition Program Award recipient by the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
The Dennis Golf Performance Center was recognized “for combining the practicality of artificial turf with creative golf course design techniques to produce a unique indoor golf practice center.”
