Buckeyes Rank 11th After Day One of USF Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After the first round of competition at the USF Invitational, the Ohio State men’s golf team ranks 11th, carding a 1-over 289. Two Buckeyes – Tee-k Kelly and Max Rosenthal – concluded Sunday under par 72 on the 7,153-yard South Course at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
Kelly, a sophomore this season, led the way for the Scarlet and Gray with a 2-under 70 performance for a 17th-place tie. A consistent day overall, Kelly paired an eagle on the 11th hole with three birdies for the round.
Rosenthal was one stroke back from his teammate, finishing 1-under 71 for 25th. The Buckeye sophomore dropped four birdies during play.
Ohio State had a pair of team members 2-over 74. Junior standout Boo Timko took the mark after bogeying back-to-back holes, while freshman Frederick Hammer birdied the second hole but bogeyed three overall. Both are tied for 55th in the individual standings.
Also representing the Buckeyes was freshman Clark Engle, who was back-and-forth throughout the day after earning an eagle the third hole. In all, Engle recorded five birdies. He will begin the day tomorrow ranked 65th with a 3-over 75.
Play will resume at the USF Invitational with the second round scheduled for Monday, March 2.
