COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf program brought home the hardware twice during the Fall season, winning both the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Sept. 28-29) and the Intercollegiate at The Grove (Oct. 26-28). Ohio State added second- and third-place efforts at the Windon Memorial Classic (Sept. 21-22) and Northern Intercollegiate (Sept. 5-7), respectively, to make it four top-3 performances in five tournaments played.
Ohio State ran the program’s all-time tournament title total to 193 with the pair of championships. Despite a 12th-place hiccup at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational, the Buckeyes racked up a 45-14 (.763) head-to-head record this Fall. In the team’s four top-3 performances, OSU bested 93.8 percent of the opposition with a mark of 45-3.
ENGLE EMERGES
Sophomore Clark Engle climbed into the Golfweek Top-100, ascending to No. 73. He paced Ohio State with a 71.5 strokes average in 12 rounds played. He tallied seven scores under par, including four rounds dipped down into the 60s. Engle saved the best for last, going out with his first career medalist honors. He earned Big Ten Golfer of the Week laurels following the Intercollegiate at The Grove individual title.
UPPERCLASSMEN STEADY PRESENCE
Logan Jones, Boo Timko and Grant Weaver competed in all 15 rounds with Timko and Weaver combining to contribute 25 of a possible 30 scores to the team tally. The Timko-Weaver duo both posted a pair of top-10 and four top-25 results. Timko now has 23 top-25 showings and 10 top-10 performances while Weaver has tallied 14 and 6 of his own. Jones cracked the top-25 on three occasions.
HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

1979 NCAA CHAMPIONS REUNITE
Thirty-five years after winning an NCAA Championship, members of the 1979 Ohio State men’s golf team and Hall of Fame head coach Jim Brown congregated on campus (Sept. 12-13) to celebrate their 35-year anniversary of winning it all.
The Buckeyes will return to the course in February, when they travel to Palm Coast, Fla., to compete in the Big Ten Match Play Championships at Hammock Beach Resort Feb. 15-16.
