?”D’Angelo got rolling, and his shot selection was great. We want him to be aggressive and we want him to score. I thought throughout the flow of the offense he found shots that were good for him. He’s a heck of a basketball player. For him to come back from the Marquette game, I think speaks volumes of who he is as a basketball player and a person.”

“We were soft at it, but the second half we did a much better job of it. We were a lot more aggressive. And to start the second half the press was pretty aggressive. “The last game was behind me at the end of the game. I didn’t think about it at all. At the beginning of this game, I just tried to prep for it. I didn’t honestly know who the opponent was. I just tried to prepare myself the best I could.”

“It doesn’t mean I can carry the load or anything. I just happen to be an okay scorer and everyone has that opportunity. I guess tonight it just kind of stood out. It’s anybody’s night. Last week, it was Cam and next week it could be someone else.”

“It’s good to say you have it. I can’t really hold my head on that though. We want to win a lot more games and we can’t just focus on having a record right now. We want to get to be the best we can be and so now we have to put this game behind us and get ready for the next one.”

“I think our whole system now is different. It’s a new feel. I think we have guys that can really go on the floor and make shots like D’Angelo. The way he’s shooting the ball anyone could play well with him. I think the guys I have around me right now are making it a lot easier for me.”

“We were a little overwhelmed. I was proud of the way our guys fought. I thought we had a couple easy baskets early that we missed and I thought if we made them early we could’ve hung around a little bit longer but the reality is we weren’t going to win this game.”
On Ohio State’s length?
“One of the things that you don’t appreciate on tape is their length. Their length at the college level is unmatched. When you play a team with this length, you feel like you’re open, but you’re not as open as you think. This is as big as it gets when it comes to college athletics.”
On D’Angelo Russell’s performance vs. the Pioneers?
“You can still play good defense on him and he’ll make tough shots. He’s got to be one of the best freshmen in the country.”
