COLUMBUS, Ohio – Championship season continues for the Ohio State men’s cross country team this Friday, Nov. 14, at the 2014 NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wis.
The six-year-old Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course will serve as the site of the 30-team, 10k championship race, which gets underway at 2 p.m. ET. Setting the Stage
Five conference champions will be represented in the field: No. 6 Wisconsin (Big Ten), Eastern Michigan (MAC), Indiana State (Missouri Valley), IUPUI (Summit League) and Detroit (Horizon League). The Badgers look to reclaim the regional title from 12th-ranked Michigan, who ended UW’s 11-year run atop the Great Lakes region at last year’s meet. No. 20 Indiana and No. 27 Michigan State also hope to break into the Top 2 and clinch an automatic bid to the NCAA championships.

OSU in the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings
The Buckeye men jumped to No. 12 in the Nov. 4 edition of the USTFCCCA Great Lakes regional rankings.
The men’s regional rankings are led by No. 6 Wisconsin, followed by No. 12 Michigan, No. 20 Indiana, No. 27 Michigan State and Eastern Michigan.
A Look Back at Last Year
Ohio State finished seventh out of 31 teams at the 2014 NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison.
Nick Pupino earned All-Regional honors with a 20th-place finish overall in 30:55, while Michael Brajdic (31:25) and Brian Hannaford (31:26) were 37th and 38th, respectively. Blake Taneff (50th, 31:43) and Curtis Hanle (57th, 31:51) also scored for the Buckeyes.
Last Time Out
The Buckeyes competed at the Big Ten championships in Iowa City, Iowa, Nov. 2.
OSU finished 10th overall with a team score of 277. Senior Jackson Neff led the Buckeyes with a personal-best 8k time of 24:44.7, finishing 48th overall.
