Ohio State Takes Second Place at the Big Ten Invite – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team finished second overall Friday evening at the 6k Big Ten Preview in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Buckeyes compiled a team score of 58, finishing behind 17th-ranked Michigan (18 points). Host Purdue was third with 79 points, followed by Illinois (87).
Junior Michelle Thomas was the top runner for Ohio State in her first competition of the season, crossing the finish line in a seventh-place time of 21:48.6. Junior Katie Borchers also placed in the Top 10, taking eighth overall in 21:50.3. Also scoring for the Buckeyes were sophomore Minori Minagawa (13th, 22:24.7), freshman Jill Kanney (14th, 22:25.7), and junior Nicole Hilton (16th, 22:30.5).
Ohio State returns to action in three weeks at the Notre Dame Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind., and will be back at Purdue Nov. 3 for the Big Ten championships.
