Xavier Defeats Southeast Missouri, 3-1 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the first match of the 2013 Sports Imports DC Koehl Classic, Xavier defeated Southeast Missouri State, 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-12), Friday.
Xavier freshman Abbey Bessler led all players with 23 kills, while teammate Aubree Smith posted 59 assists in the match. Redhawk senior Colleen Yarber collected a team-high 15 kills while middle blocker Emily Coon notched 14 kills and a .467 hitting percentage.
Xavier improves to 6-2 and will face IUPUI Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John Arena. Southeast Missouri State (4-3) will play Ohio State at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
