Ohio State Finishes Seventh at Shortened Seahawk Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Battling 30 mph winds and soggy conditions, the Ohio State men’s golf team finished seventh at the Seahawk Intercollegiate Monday with a 36-hole score of 618. The tournament was shortened due to inclement weather Sunday and the 12-team field finished competition Monday on the par 72, 6,877-yard Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Golf Course.
Host UNC Wilmington took home the team title with a 28-over 604. Seahawk Payne McLeod finished first individually, carding a 1-under 143.
Sophomore Boo Timko led the Buckeyes, finishing tied for 10th with a 7-over 151 (75-76). Classmate Grant Weaver came in tied for 16th after recording scores of 77 and 76 for a 9-over 153.
Freshmen Max Rosenthal and Michael Bernard each finished tied for 43rd with a 160, while classmate Tee-k Kelly tied for 59th with a score of 165. Senior Matt Turner competed as an individual and carded a 163 to tie for 53rd.
Up next, the Buckeyes return to Florida for the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla., Apr. 7-8.
