Ohio State Finishes Fourth at Big Ten Match Play Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished fourth at the Big Ten Match Play Championships Saturday on the par 72, 7,474-yard The Concessions Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
Illinois captured the tournament title, while Michigan State came in second and Iowa took third.
Making their third-straight semifinal appearance, the Buckeyes faced champion Illinois in the morning round and fell 5-0. The squad then followed with a 3-1-1 loss to Iowa to place fourth.
Freshman Michael Bernard captured the team’s lone win on the day, defeating Hawkeye Nathan Yankovich 2&1. The Huber Heights, Ohio, product finished the weekend with a 3-1 overall record to lead the squad.
Senior Matt Turner finished the weekend 1-1-1, while freshmen Tee-k Kelly and Max Rosenthal had records of 1-2-1 and 1-1, respectively. Sophomores Boo Timko and Grant Weaver also competed for the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes continue their spring season at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Feb. 17-19.
