Senior defenseman Sean Duddy checks in with this week’s blog:
Hi again Buckeye Nation, I hope you all had a great break. I know I enjoyed my time at home but it’s great to be back with the boys to start working on having a great second half.
Last week we had the opportunity to play at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh against Robert Morris. Travis Statchuk was especially excited to travel to Pittsburgh and see the Penguins’ locker room because his idol is Sidney Crosby. I read an article on NHL.com yesterday about how something had mysteriously disappeared from his locker, and the first place I’d check would definitely be Travis’ house on campus. We pulled out the win against a tough Robert Morris team but we definitely didn’t play Buckeye hockey, so we’ve been working really hard in practice this week to make sure we’re on top of our game this weekend against Bowling Green.
We had a very controversial Taco Tuesday last night, involving burned taco meat and the attempted robbery of sour cream and cheese along with some chirping, so tensions have been very high around our place between Danny Dries and Travis Statchuk. The intensity has carried over into battle drills in practice, and hopefully Travis will continue to take his anger out on Bowling Green this weekend. We hope to see all of our fans there. I’m sure we’ll have great support from the Knucklebucks and hopefully the Scarlet Men will make an appearance as well.
Thanks again for your support, and Go Bucks!
