The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time position of Dance Coach. This position coaches the OSU Dance Team. Prepares the team for basketball game performances which includes timeout routines and half time shows. Attends all home men’s basketball games to direct the team during the game and evaluate their performances. Performs at select women’s basketball, wrestling, other sport competitions. Assists in preparing team for special events. Assists with tryouts for Dance Team. Trains the team for college nationals, helps with the routine, filming, practicing, as well as assists in coaching at the competition. Assists with fund raising and special events.
A Bachelors Degree or a combination of experience and education is required. Experience in collegiate dance required; experience developing choreography and teaching technique required; ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends is required; excellent communication skills and ability to self-motivate is required; previous coaching experience is preferred. Position may require completion of a criminal background check.
