Mariah Booth Named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced today co-defensive Player of the Week honors in women’s volleyball for Ohio State’s Mariah Booth. She shares the honor with Purdue’s Kierra Jones.
In OSU’s 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-21) victory at Wisconsin, Booth posted season highs of eight block assists and nine total blocks. She added nine kills while hitting .412. She recorded seven assist blocks, one dig and five kills (.188) in the 3-1 (18-25, 19-25, 25-22, 23-25) loss at 15th-ranked Minnesota.
For the weekend, Booth averaged 2.0 blocks, 1.75 kills and 2.81 points per set while hitting .303.
Booth has played in started 21 matches this season and is averaging 2.35 points, 1.80 kills and .99 blocks per set while hitting .239.
Ohio State (17-10 overall, 7-7 Big Ten, tied for fifth) is currently ranked 22nd nationally and returns to the road this weekend for matches at Northwestern (14-11, 5-9, tied for ninth) Friday, Nov. 11 and at fifth-ranked Illinois (22-3, 11-3, tied for second) Saturday, Nov. 12.
