Buckeyes Show Improvement, Finish 17th at Wisconsin – Ohio State Buckeyes

MADISON, Wisc. – The Ohio State men’s cross country team defeated six top 30 teams on its way to a 17th-place finish Friday afternoon at the 8k Wisconsin adidas Invitational.
The Buckeyes performed admirably against a field that featured 20 of the top 30 programs in the nation, using a team score of 464 to place fifth among Big Ten teams and ahead of ranked foes that included 16th-ranked Georgetown and No. 18 Columbia. Second-ranked Wisconsin won the prestigious meet on its home course with a score of 66, finishing well ahead of runner-up and sixth-ranked BYU (120 points) and No. 4 Stanford (125).
Individually, the Buckeyes showed improvement across the board from the Notre Dame Invitational two weeks ago as the top 4 runners improved upon their previous season-best 8k times. For the second-consecutive meet, Donny Roys was the leader on the course for the Scarlet and Gray, taking 54th overall in 24:33. Taylor Williams and Chris Fallon finished 2-3 once again for OSU, with Williams finishing 71st in 24:50 and Fallon placing 101st in 24:50. Rounding out scoring were Adam Green (114th, 24:54) and Julian Meyer (124th, 24:58).
