- Big Ten Freshman of the Week (his sixth of the season) Jared Sullinger finished the contest with 18 points. Sullinger has scored at least 10 points in 11 out or 13 games this season.
- Sullinger posted his sixth double-double this year, finishing with 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
- With two made 3-pointers vs. UTM, senior Jon Diebler now has 299 for his career, tying Dee Brown (Illinois – 299) for sixth-place in career 3-pointers made in Big Ten history. He is nine away from tying Joe Crispin (308, Penn St. 1998-2001) for fifth-place.
- With two made 3-pointers, Diebler extends his streak to 29 games in a row with at least one 3-pointer made.
- With six points against the Skyhawks, Diebler now has 1,227 career points, passing John Havlicek (1,220) for 28th place in career scoring in Ohio State history. He is one point away from tying Larry Siegfried (1,228) for 27th place.
- The game vs. UTM marked senior David Lighty’s 101st career start for Ohio State, tying Troy Taylor for ninth place in career games started at Ohio State. He is four starts away from tying Jim Smith for eighth place in career games started for the Buckeyes.
- With 10 points, Lighty passed Lawrence Funderburke (1,179) for 31st place on the all-time scoring list at Ohio State with 1,180 career points, 31 behind Luke Witte for 30th all-time.
- Lighty recorded his 108th win as a Buckeye vs. the Skyhawk. He had 35 as a freshman, 25 as a sophomore, 29 as a junior and seven during the 2008-09 season when he received a medical redshirt because of a broken foot. He is three wins away from owning the Ohio State record.
- Lighty has played in 133 games as a Buckeye, which ties Jerry Francis (1986-89) for second place all-time.
- Lighty had two steals, passing Jamaal Brown and Ronnie Stokes (158) and tying Evan Turner (159) for third place all-time at Ohio State. He also recorded five assists to give him 300 for his career.
- Freshman guard Aaron Craft finished the game with a team-high seven assists. He now has 63 assists on the season to just 25 turnovers.
- Freshman Deshaun Thomas scored 20 points for the Buckeyes. He scored in double-figures for the seventh time this season and reached 20 points for the second time.
- Senior Dallas Lauderdale recorded one block to move his career total to 191, which is third in Ohio State history. He has at least one block in 12 of 13 games this season.
