Stibel, Wilson Recap Scarlet and Gray Intrasquad – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The sixth-ranked Ohio State men’s gymnastics team continued its preseason with its Scarlet and Gray Intrasquad Thursday afternoon at historic St. John Arena. Interim co-head coaches Doug Stibel and Blaine Wilson talked with OhioStateBuckeyes.com recapping the team’s competition.
“It’s great to be here at St. John Arena and compete on our home competition floor,” Stibel said. “The guys are really starting to put things together. The NCAA Championships will be here and it’s a great feeling for the guys to get a jump start on what it’s like to compete at this arena.”
“I saw a lot of fight out of the guys today,” Wilson said. “I thought they worked together as a unit and that’s what I wanted to see when I told that to them before the exhibition started. The commitment and leadership is there and I think they are on the right track for a successful season.”
Following winter break, Ohio State has its last preseason exhibition at 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at Steelwood Training Facility before opening the 2011 campaign at the Windy City Invitational at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 in Chicago, Ill. Click on the photo album above to view pictures from the Buckeyes’ exhibition.
