Buckeyes Back Preparing for Season – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s basketball team returned to campus this week after a short break to begin conditioning for the 2009-10 season.
The Buckeyes traveled to Canada for four days in late August and won three games vs. Canadian university squads. Ohio State student-athletes then took a two-week break before returning to Columbus early this week to resume workouts.
The official start of practice is Oct. 16 for the 2009-10 season. The Buckeyes open the season officially vs. Alcorn State at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Value City Arena. Click HERE for the 2009-10 Ohio State schedule.
The ASU game is the first of four the Buckeyes will play in the 2K Sports Classic benefitting Coaches vs. Cancer.
Walsh University will visit Columbus Nov. 4 to take on Ohio State in an exhibition game at Value City Arena. That game tips at 8 p.m.
Ohio State’s non-conference schedule, which includes neutral site games vs. North Carolina and either California or Syracuse at Madison Square Garden Nov. 19-20 in New York, is rated No. 4 nationally by Sports Illustrated. Other non-league competition includes games at West Virginia and Butler along with a home game vs. Florida State Dec. 3 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
The Buckeyes return 11 letterwinners and all five starters from a year ago (22-11 overall, 10-8 in the Big Ten). All-Big Ten guard Evan Turner along with guards David Lighty, Jon Diebler and 2009 Big Ten Freshman of the Year William Buford give Ohio State depth and experience in the backcourt.
