COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two-time Buckeye All-American Joel Dalgarno was the seventh overall pick in the 2009 National Lacrosse League draft, going to the Toronto Rock in the first round Wednesday. The native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, completed his Buckeye career in May as the team’s all-time leading goal scorer and second all-time in points.
Dalgarno has played two seasons of Senior A lacrosse in the Western Lacrosse Association, posting 100 points in just 23 games with the Maple Ridge Burrards.
Dalgarno, who was named an honorable mention USILA All-American as a junior and senior, was a three-time first team All-Great Western Lacrosse League choice. As a senior in 2009 he led the GWLL and ranked sixth nationally averaging 3.81 points per game, coming in ninth in the NCAA in assists per game at 1.75.
