PISTOL: Sweeney Adds Blake Reburn to 2009-10 Squad – Ohio State Buckeyes

Maryland native brings national and international experience to Buckeye pistol squad
COLUMBUS, Ohio James Sweeney, Ohio State pistol head coach, will welcome Gary Blake’ Reburn of Kensington, Md., to the roster for the 2009-10 season, he announced June 3. Reburn, who goes by his middle name Blake, comes to Ohio State with a wealth of national and international experience.
“Blake has participated at the junior level in national competitions for several years and has shown outstanding potential to become an elite collegiate shooter,” Sweeney said. “Blake will join a long list of Buckeye shooters who perform well at collegiate and international competitions.”
Reburn, who is scheduled to graduate from St. Johns College High School in Washington, D.C., on June 5, recently placed sixth in the Junior 1 age division (18-22) of the 2009 USA Shooting Junior Olympic Championships April 19 with a final tally of 578.2 in the 50m free pistol in Colorado Springs, Colo.
In 2008, Reburn notched the best score in the Junior 2 age division (15-17) of the air pistol, shooting a 536 on day one and a personal-best 546 on day two for a total of 1082 July 1-2 to be named the USA Shooting National champion. A member of the Twelfth Precinct Pistol and Archery Club, Reburn finished second at the 2008 USA Shooting 3 X Air Match (Dec. 6-7) with a final score of 647.9. At the Maryland State Pistol championships, he place second as a junior.
