MGLF: Buckeyes Ninth After 36 Holes at Rio Pinar Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

Sophomore Bo Hoag tied for fifth at 2-under to lead Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State men’s golf team shot a 36-hole total of 11-over 587 (291-296) Monday on the 6,987-yard Rio Pinar Golf and Country Club and sits in ninth place after day one of the Rio Pinar Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
Hosting team Central Florida leads the tournament after shooting 571 (-5). Louisville is four strokes back at 1-under par.
Sophomore Bo Hoag is tied for fifth at 2-under 142 to lead the Buckeyes. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, native fired rounds of 72 and 70. He is seven shots behind leader Blayne Barber of Central Florida.
Tri-captain Vaughn Snyder continued his great play and shot a first-round 69 before stumbling slightly in the afternoon with a 75. The senior from Massillon, Ohio, is tied for 11th at even par.
Fellow captain Brad Wright, of Cambridge, Ohio, shot two rounds of 75 to tie for 56th at 150, while sophomore Michael Cress is four shots back at 154 to tie for 84th.
Rounding out the Buckeyes is sophomore Brad Smith who shot rounds of 84 and 76 and is 104th.
The final 18 holes of the Rio Pinar Invitational will be played Tuesday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.
