Buckeye Joel Dalgarno Selected in MLL Supplemental Draft – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Joel Dalgarno, who ended his Buckeye career in 2009 as the team’s all-time leading goal scorer, was selected in the third round of the 2010 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft last Thursday. Dalgarno was drafted in the third round, No. 16 overall, by the Long Island Lizards.
In all, 74 players were added to team rosters in 12 rounds. The draft is held each offseason to allow for teams to reload their rosters in preparation for the upcoming training camp for the 2010 season.
Dalgarno ended his collegiate career as a two-time USILA All-American, earning honorable mention awards as both a junior and senior. The No. 7 overall pick in the National Lacrosse League Draft by the Toronto Rock, he was a three-time first team All-Great Western Lacrosse League selection. Dalgarno ended his career first in Ohio State history in goals (126) and second in assists (101) and points (227). In his final campaign he led the GWLL and was sixth in the NCAA with 3.81 points per game and was first on the team with 33 goals, 28 assists and 61 points to lead the squad for the third time in his four years. Dalgarno was a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award and earned a spot on the All-Senior All-America second team.
