Taylor Williams Leads Buckeyes at Pre-Nationals – Ohio State Buckeyes

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Ohio State men’s cross country team placed 22nd among 35 teams today at the 2009 Pre-Nationals at Indiana State’s LaVern Gibson Champions Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
Stanford took first place with two runners finishing in the top 5, followed by Colorado and BYU.
The Buckeyes were led by sophomore Taylor Williams, who placed 53rd in a time of 24:36.0 in the White 8K race. Donny Roys was next at No. 85 (24:58.6), while Julian Meyer came in 115th in a time of 25:15.4.
Sophomore Adam Green and Chad Balyo rounded out the top 5 for the Buckeyes at 140 and 155, respectively.
Senior Jeff See didn’t have one of his better days after claiming first place at the All-Ohio Championships Oct. 2. He finished the 8K race in a time of 25:53.8. Skyler Schmitt crossed the line at 26:19.4 to round out scoring for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes will be back in action next Friday at the Eastern Michigan tune-up — their last race before the Big Ten championships Nov. 1 in State College, Pa.
