Redshirt freshman crushes the field by 12 seconds
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State men’s cross country team turned in a great performance at the Kent State short course open Friday in Stow, Ohio.
Redshirt freshman Taylor Williams took home first place, crushing the field by 12 seconds in a time of 18:53.91 in the 6K race. Finishing second from Malone College was Aaron Melhorn in a time of 19:05.99. A total of four Buckeyes finished in the Top 10 and nine in the Top 20 overall.
“I thought Taylor Williams looked real strong today,” head coach Robert Gary said. “We definitely were running on heavy legs from working out hard Wednesday, so I was pleased. We will do the same routine for next week and hopefully we will tighten up our spread.”
