A number of former and current Ohio State student-athletes are scheduled to receive their degrees from The Ohio State University at summer commencement Sunday in the Schottenstein Center. Among the graduates is former men’s basketball player Ivan Harris, a member of the 2007 NCAA Final Four team.
Harris, also a starter on the 2006-07 Big Ten champion men’s basketball team, will receive his degree in African-American and African studies. A former High School McDonald’s All-American, Harris helped lead the Buckeyes to a berth in the 2007 national title game with his outstanding shooting ability.
After playing a season overseas in Finland, Harris, like many former Buckeyes, returned to Ohio State to workout over the summer. He has had a chance to improve his game in hopes of trying out for the NBA’s developmental league. Harris also has played some open gyms with some of the current Buckeyes gearing up for the 2008-09 season.
