Rowing: Final Practice for Buckeyes as They Gear Up for 2008 NCAA Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

GOLD RIVER, Calif. The Ohio State rowing team practiced for the final time Thursday before it makes a run for the national title at the 2008 NCAA Championships on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
The Buckeyes, appearing in their ninth-consecutive national championships, received their heat sheet for the first day of competition. The 16th-ranked Ohio State First Varsity Eight will race against a tough field at 11 a.m. ET that includes Big Ten Conference opponents Wisconsin and Michigan State. The Badgers enter the championships ranked No. 13 in the nation, while the Spartans are sixth. Joining the three Big Ten programs are No. 3 Yale, No. 7 Harvard and No. 11 USC.
The Second Varsity Eight’s race will begin at 1 p.m. ET against California, Michigan State, Tennessee, Yale and Harvard. The First Varsity Four will get on the water at 1:45 p.m. ET. That crew will be up against Michigan State, Brown, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington State.
