It is great to be in the Florida! The weather today was amazing as we practiced and prepared for a three-way match tomorrow vs. Iowa State and Florida Atlantic. The team worked hard on the course all day. The practice round allowed us to get a good feel for the course, which happens to be the site of the final stage of the PGA Qualifying School. Everyone played well and is going into tomorrow with confidence. The round was highlighted with a funny moment as Zach Sebert climbed a fence to pick an orange across the street from hole 12. We practiced putting, short game and hit balls in the afternoon. After a day on the course, we caught up with former Buckeye Kevin Hall for a team dinner at TGI Friday’s. It was then back to the hotel and a little lighted putting on the practice green 20 yards outside of our hotel room. Everyone is going to bed envisioning good shots and lots of birdies tomorrow. Go Bucks!

Victory! Patrick Simard led us with a 65 as we beat Iowa State and Florida Atlantic in our first tournament action of 2008. Everyone else played solid in contributing to the win. The course was in great shape and it was a lot of fun getting to play competitively in warm weather. After the round, we had a celebratory lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Our afternoon consisted of some ball striking and short game work. At night, we watched the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, did some homework and enjoyed Patrick’s victory choice of Domino’s delivery.
