Brad Smith Leads Buckeyes with 69 in Day 2 of Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

Buckeyes in 14th after two rounds at Jonesborough, Tenn., event
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State men’s golf team improved during the second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges with a score of 296 (+8) Saturday but dropped one spot to sit in 14th heading into the final round. The Buckeyes have a 36-hole total of 599 on the par 72, 7,147-yard The Ridges Golf and Country Club in Jonesborough, Tenn.
Wake Forest moved into the lead during the second day with a total of even-par 576. Host school East Tennessee State and Coastal Carolina are tied for second at 2-over. Ohio State is a stroke back from in-state foe Kent State in 13th.
After shooting an 81 yesterday, sophomore Brad Smith came back with a 3-under 69 to lead the Buckeyes in round two. The native of Peru, Ind., got as low as 5-under during the round but closed with bogeys on 16 and 17. Smith had six birdies on the day and is now tied for 42nd at 150 (+6).
Senior co-captain Vaughn Snyder and sophomore Bo Hoag each carded 76’s. Snyder, who shot an even par 72 yesterday, is tied for 33rd at 148. Hoag struggled on the front nine, but came back with two birdies on the back and enters the final round in a tie for 37th.
Brad Wright is tied for 56th after shooting a round of 75. The senior co-captain from Cambridge, Ohio, has a two-day total of 153.
Rounding out the Buckeyes was freshman Michael Kinkopf who is tied for 73rd after shooting a second round of 80.
