Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams Ranked After Successful Starts – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio In the Golfweek college golf rankings released this week, the Ohio State men’s and women’s golf teams are both in the Top 25 after strong starts to their fall seasons.
The women’s golf team is ranked 17th and have a record of 11-6. Ohio State placed seventh at the Tar Heel Invitational (Oct. 3-5), its first tournament of the season. All six teams that finished ahead of them are ranked in the Top 25.
Coming off its first tournament win since 2004, the men’s golf team is ranked 22nd in the country. The Buckeyes won the Memphis Intercollegiate, which was shortened to 36 holes because of inclement weather, by three strokes over host Memphis. On the season, Ohio State has a record of 26-4 after two events.
Senior co-captain Vaughn Snyder, who won medalist honors in Memphis, is the 17th ranked individual. Snyder shot rounds of 68 and 70 to win the Memphis Intercollegiate by six shots, finishing at 6-under par. The victory was Snyder’s second as a collegian.
Bo Hoag, a sophomore from Upper Arlington, Ohio, is ranked 37th after two Top 10 finishes. Hoag finished fourth at the William H. Tucker Invitational and tied for eighth at the Memphis Intercollegiate. He has finished ahead of 94 percent of competitors this season.
The women’s team returns to action next week in West Lafayette, Ind., at the Lady Northern, Oct. 18-19.
The men’s team next tees it up Oct. 24-26 in the Bank of Tennessee at the Ridges in Johnson City, Tenn.
