Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Boilermaker Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished tied for sixth with Indiana at the Boilermaker Invitational Sunday. The Buckeyes shot rounds of 316-293 (609) over the two-day, 36-hole rain shortened event at the Kampen Course (par 72, 7,338) in West Lafayette, Ind.
Michigan State won the tournament by nine shots over Northwestern and Purdue with a score of 593 (301-292). Ryan Brehm of Michigan State won medalist honors after shooting a 2-under par 142 (72-70).
Ohio State senior Colin Biles (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) led the Buckeyes and set a team and individual season low with a fourth-place tie after firing off rounds of 77-71 (148). The 1-under par final round for Biles marked the seventh time this season he recorded a round of par or better.
Senior Jared Jones (Kenova, W.Va./Spring Valley) also posted an individual season best finish with a 152 total (80-72) to tie for 24th.
Junior Zach Sebert (Grove City, Ohio/Otterbein College) tied for 43rd after shooting rounds of 79-76 (155).
In his second tournament appearance of the season, sophomore Kevin Grabeman (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) shot rounds of 82-74 (156) and tied for 52nd.
Senior David Vallina (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) finished tied for 56th after rounds of 80-77 (157).
The Buckeyes return to action April 14-15 when they host the Kepler Intercollegiate at the OSU Scarlet Course. Admission to the tournament is free.
