Ohio State Men’s Golf in 8th place after 36 holes at Fossum Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team is in eighth place at the Fossum Intercollegiate with 18 holes to be played. The Buckeyes shot 561 (301-280) over the first 36 holes at the Forest Akers West Golf Course (par 72, 7,013) in East Lansing Mich. The 280 total in the second round also was a season best for the Buckeyes.
Tournament host and No. 29 Michigan State leads the tournament by five strokes over Xavier after firing rounds of 279-284 (563). Cam Burke of Eastern Michigan is the individual leader after shooting rounds of 64-71 (135) for a score of 9-under par.
Ohio State senior David Vallina (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) leads the Buckeyes after shooting a two round total 141 (75-66) and is tied for 10th place. The 6-under par second round total for Vallina was a season best for the Buckeyes and a career best for the senior.
Final round competition begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.
