COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s soccer team will welcome eight new members to its ranks this fall, head coach John Bluem has announced. The incoming group, which includes four from Ohio, boasts four all-state recipients and an Olympic Development Program member and joins an Ohio State program that has been in the NCAA tournament four of the last seven seasons and has had seven players drafted since 2003.
“We are very excited about this new group of players and strongly believe that they have championship potential,” Bluem said. “We lost six seniors last year and have seven seniors on the 2007 roster so we needed a large, talented class this year.”
The eight include goalkeeper Ryan Dalton (Cincinnati, Ohio), midfielder Jordan Lomnicki (Elmhurst, Ill.), midfielder Sam Scales (Louisville, Ky.), defender Matt Gold (San Antonio, Tex.), midfielder Konrad Warzycha (Dublin, Ohio), midfielder Nick Galiardi (Gahanna, Ohio), forward Samuel Sprauer (Carol Stream, Ill.) and defender Paul Zagorski (Lakewood, Ohio).
