Men’s Basketball To Hold Open Scrimmage Saturday – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s basketball team will hold a public scrimmage from noon-1 p.m. Saturday on the main VCA court prior to the 3:30 p.m. Homecoming football game vs. Michigan State at Ohio Stadium. The team began practice Oct. 12.
VCA doors will open at 11 a.m. Admission is free.
The Buckeyes will play their first of two exhibition games at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at VCA vs. Ashland University. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network, the first Ohio State and Big Ten men’s basketball competition to be telecast by the network. Ohio State will conclude the exhibition schedule Nov. 6 vs. Findlay. Game time is 7 p.m. and will also be televised by the Big Ten Network.
The regular season gets underway Nov. 12-13 in the opening rounds of the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Preseason Tip-Off. The Buckeyes take on Wisconsin-Green Bay at 9 p.m. Columbia and Delaware State tip-off the event at 6 p.m. The winners and losers play Nov. 13. The team with wins both days will advance to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden in New York Nov. 21. The championship game will be contested Nov. 23.
Ohio State is the two-time defending outright Big Ten champion after a school record 35 wins in 2006-07. The Buckeyes also claimed the 2007 Big Ten Tournament crown and advanced to the NCAA title game for the fifth time in school history.
