Women’s Volleyball Announces 2006 Schedule – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team will play in three tournaments in as many weeks to open the 2006 schedule. The Buckeyes will open 2006 season by playing in the Towson Invitational facing Robert Morris and Houston, Aug 26 and Towson, Aug. 27. OSU then will host the Buckeye Invitational, facing Lehigh and Iona, Sept. 1 and Northern Illinois, Sept. 3. In the Sports Imports Classic, the Buckeyes play host to Tennessee Tech Sept. 8 and Arizona State, Sept. 9. Ohio State closes out the non-conference schedule by hosing IPFW, Sept. 12 and playing at Youngstown State, Sept. 13.
Ohio State opens Big Ten Conference with four straight road matches at the end of September. The Buckeyes open conference play at three-time defending Big Ten Champion Penn State, Sept. 20. The conference schedule includes five teams that played in the 2005 NCAA Championship: Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.
The Buckeyes will have three Sunday home matches this season. Along with OSU’s match against Northern Illinois in the Buckeye Invitational, Sept. 3, Big Ten matches against Minnesota, Oct. 8 and Michigan, Oct. 22 will be played on Sunday.
