Biles Completes Day Two at NCAA Men’s Golf Central Regional – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio State junior Colin Biles (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) shot 80 in round two of the 2006 Men’s Golf NCAA Central Regional in Chardon, Ohio, Friday. He is tied for 68th (71-80=151) with 18 holes to play at the Sand Ridge Golf Club (7,173 yds.). Cleveland State University is the host school for the tournament.
Biles, competing as an individual in the three-day 54-hole event, started the day tied for 17th and was 1-under after going par, birdie, par over the first three holes. He was three over after nine holes and finished the day at +9.
The top 10 teams and two individuals not attached to one of those teams will advance to compete in the NCAA championships May 31 through June 3 at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.
Biles, a second team All-Big Ten selection, is scheduled to tee off hole No. 10 at 9:02 a.m. Saturday in the final round of regional competition.
Oklahoma State is the team leader after 36 holes at 3-under 565 (280-285). The Cowboys’ Zack Robinson is the individual leader at 5 under 137 after shooting even par Thursday and a tournament best 5-under 66 Friday. Teammate Jonathan Moore is a shot back after shooting back-to-back 69s. (138).
