COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished the Fossum Invitational in eighth-place Sunday. The Buckeyes shot 890 (300+296+294) at the par 72, 7,013-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. The tournament was hosted by Michigan State.
Indiana won the event with a score of 870 (292-283-295).
Ohio State’s Colin Biles (Jr., Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) shot 3-under-par (69) during the final round. The score ties his lowest round this season. With a three-round total of 215, he tied for fourth individually.
David Vallina (Sr., Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettestown) tied for 15th with a total of 219 for the Buckeyes. Freshman Dan Rush (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) shot 1-under 71 Sunday. He eagled the par 5 No. 17 Sunday to help record his third round under par this season.
Charlie Soule of Denver won the event with a total of 207 (67-71-69).
The Buckeyes are back in action at the 2006 Big Ten Tournament April 28-30 in Chicago.
