Women’s Lacrosse Kelly Kremer Named to the American Lacross Conference Preseason Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s lacrosse student-athlete Kelly Kremer (So., Kennett Square, Pa.) has been named to the 2006 American Lacrosse Conference Preseason Team by a vote of the league coaches. In her freshman season with the Buckeyes, she was named the ALC Rookie of the Year and a second team ALC selection. Kremer started all 16 games last season, recording team-highs of 38 goals and 44 points, adding six assists, 22 ground ball, 17 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers. She was named to the 2005 National All-Rookie Team by womenslacrosse.com.
Ohio State was picked to finish fifth in the conference by a vote of the league coaches. NCAA and ALC defending champion Northwestern was tabbed to win the conference. Penn State was picked to finish second, one point ahead of third place John Hopkins. Vanderbilt was selected to finish fourth (19) with Ohio State fifth (10) and Ohio sixth (8).
The Buckeyes, in ALC play, finished in a three-way tie for third with a 3-3 mark last season. OSU was 6-10 overall in 2005. Ohio State opens the 2006 season next Friday at 17th-ranked Stanford (1-1) and Sunday at California (1-0).
