Women’s Volleyball Anna Szerszen Named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Women’s volleyball Anna Szerszen (Fr., Conflans Ste Hne, France) has been named the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week for her play in Ohio State wins over Michigan State and Michigan. She shares the honor with Penn State’s Megan Hodge.
In Sunday’s 3-2 come-from-behind win over Michigan, Szerszen recorded career highs of 27 kills, 11 digs, two solo blocks and tied her career high of three total blocks. Down 2-1 in the match to Michigan, Szerszen had a game-high nine kills in game four while hitting .421. She then had a game-high four kills, hitting .600 in the deciding fifth game. She totaled 17 kills and 18 points against Michigan State prior to the match versus the Wolverines. For the two matches, Szerszen averaged 5.94 points, 5.50 kills, 1.75 digs and hit .278.
Ohio State, 15-5 overall and 5-5 in the Big Ten, will play road matches this week at Minnesota (15-5, 9-1) Friday and at Wisconsin (15-5, 7-3) Sunday.
