COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s lacrosse coach Sue Stimmel has announced the hiring of Gina Oliver as an assistant coach. Oliver, a four-year letterwinner with the Buckeyes, earned All-America honors three times with OSU and was the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Year in 2004 and the Rookie of the Year in 2002. She was a four-time, first-team ALC All-Conference selection. At Ohio State, Oliver became the all-time career leader in ground balls (236) and caused turnovers (201) and was second in draw controls (121). She ranks third in career points with 166 while ranking second in goals (125) and sixth in assists (41).
“I am very excited to be able to keep Gina here at Ohio State,” said Stimmel. “She had a phenomenal career with us and continues to play with the U.S. Team. I feel she is going to be a great role model, motivator, and teacher for our current and future student-athletes.”
Oliver joins former Buckeye Megan Mirick (1999-2002) on the coaching staff. Mirick begins her fourth season with the Buckeye coaching staff.
