Ohio State Men’s Golf Fourth After One Round at Big Ten Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team is in fourth place after one round at the 2005 Big Ten Championships. The Buckeyes begin second round action just eight strokes behind Michigan State, who sits atop the leaderboard with a total of 282. The University of Wisconsin is playing host to the event at the par 72 University Ridge Golf Course (6,888 yards) in Madison, Wis.
Michael Haverfield (Fr., Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) and Colin Biles (So., Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) are the top Buckeye golfers after one round as both fired scores of 71 to tie for eighth. Haverfield’s opening round tally of 71 tied a season-best low round.
Biles finished the front nine with a tally of two-under-par 34 thanks to an eagle on the No. 9 hole. Haverfield also recorded a two-under-par 34 on the front nine as he notched birdies on holes No. 2 and No. 5.
The Buckeyes return to action at 8 a.m. tomorrow with a shotgun start.
