Men’s Golf Finishes Third at St. Croix Collegiate Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team concluded play at the 2004 St. Croix Collegiate Classic Sunday. The Buckeyes finished the event just two strokes behind team champion Fresno State with a three round total of 880 and placed third to post their fourth Top 5 finish of the 2003-04 season. The event was held at the par 72, 6,809-yard Carambola Golf Club in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
Scott Anderson (Jr., Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls H.S.) and Zach Doran (Sr., Dublin, Ohio/Columbus Academy) both tied for fourth to pace the Buckeyes. Doran concluded the tournament on a high note as he fired a season-best 66.
Chad Spencer of Fresno State defeated Miles Maillet in a playoff to capture medalist honors. Fresno State won the team title with a three round total of 878.
The Ohio State men’s golf team returns to action March 20-21 to compete in the Schenkel EZ-GO Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
