Field Set for 2004 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 5 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team earned its 24th consecutive bid to compete in the 2004 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships. The NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Committee announced the 12 teams selected to participate in the national championships Tuesday. The field includes two automatic bids, the Big Ten (Illinois) and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (California) champions, in addition to the Top 10 teams in the nation. The Top 12 all arounders and the Top 12 in each individual event, who are not on a qualifying team, qualify as an individual. The 2004 NCAA Championships will take place April 2-4 at Assembly Hall on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign, Ill.
The first day of competition includes two sessions with the Top 3 teams from each session advancing to the national finals. The Top 3 all-arounders not on one of the qualifying teams and the Top 3 individuals on each event not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor will advance from each session to the finals session.
