Ohio State Men’s Golf Finishes Third At Northern Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team concluded play at the Northern Intercollegiate Sunday, and finished in third place with a three-round total of 874. The event was held at the par 71, 6,704-yard University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich., which will play host to the 2004 Big Ten Championships.
Leading the way for the Buckeyes was senior Justin Collins (Ironton, Ohio/Ironton), who fired a final round of one-over-pa r, 72 to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 218. Collins’s 15th place tie Sunday equaled his third career best finish, which also took place at the Northern Intercollegiate back in 1999.
Fellow senior Zach Doran (Dublin, Ohio,/Columbus Academy) also turned in a strong performance as he tied for 19th with a three-round total of 220. Also competing for the Buckeyes was Scott Anderson (Sr., Great Falls, Mont./ Great Falls). In three-rounds, Anderson who competed for Ohio State as an individual tied for 10th with a total of 215.
Xavier University won the event with a score of 853, while Jeff Overton of Indiana captured the individual crown with a three-round total of six-under-par, 207.
