Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh At SMU Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team (12-2) finished seventh at the 2003 SMU Invitational, Tuesday as they fired a final round score of 294, to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 890. The two-day event, was held in McKinney, Texas at the par 72, 7,247-yard, Stonebridge Country Club with teams competing on the Dye Course.
Leading the way for the Buckeyes was senior Brett Williams (Circleville, Ohio/ Otterbein), who competed in his first collegiate tournament as a Buckeye. During the event, Williams finished in seventh place, while firing a final round score of three-under-par, 69, for a three-round total of 216.
The Buckeyes also received a strong performance from senior Kevin Hall (Cincinnati, Ohio/ St. Rita For The Deaf). Hall tied for 15th as he posted a three-round total of 221.
Chris Stroud of Lamar University won the event as he posted a three-round total of eleven-under-par, 205, while Notre Dame captured the team title with a score 882.
The Buckeyes will return to action Oct. 20-21 to compete in the Barona Intercollegiate in San Diego, Calif.
