Women’s Lacrosse Has Four Named Mid-Atlantic Regional All-Americans – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four student-athletes from the Ohio State women’s lacrosse squad have been named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American team. OSU’s Megan Mirick (Attack, Sr., Burke, Va.) and Shannon Wilson (Midfield, Jr., Sherkston, Ontario) have been named to the first team with Tracey Bounds (Attack, Jr., Ellicott City, Md.) and Regina Oliver (Midfield, Fr., Pottstown, Pa.) named to the second team.
Mirick, the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Year, has a team-high 53 goals and six assists this season. The 53 goals is an Ohio State season record. She ranks fifth in the country in goals per game (3.47) and 15th in scoring (3.87 points per game). Wilson had 23 goals and eight assists with a co-team high 44 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. She is ranked 24th nationally in caused turnovers at 2.07.
Bounds, an ALC All-Conference selection, recorded a team-high 61 points this season with 36 goals and 25 assists. Her 25 assists and 61 points are Ohio State season records. Bounds is ranked 13th nationally in scoring at 3.93 points per game. Oliver, the ALC Rookie of the Year, had 28 goals and 12 assists this season. She had team-highs of 51 caused turnovers and 44 ground balls. Oliver is ranked second in the country in caused turnovers with 3.27 per game.
These four student-athletes played key roles in Ohio State’s outstanding season. The Buckeyes finished 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the American Lacrosse Conference, tied for second place. OSU’s 11 wins is the most wins in a season in the seven-year history of the program. The Buckeyes finished the regular season ranked 12th in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association, the highest ranking in the history of the program and received its first-ever bid to the NCAA Championship to close out a memorable season.
